Meet David Johnson: Cortland’s Newest Assistant Community Manager
Once upon a time, Cortland started small. And though we have over 1,500 associates these days, we strive to hire authentic and innovative individuals whose values reflect the very best of our company culture. We believe that our team makes us who we are, and they are the ones making a difference in the lives of our residents. Say hello to one of our rising stars — David Johnson.
That shiny gold belt David’s wearing in his photo is no ordinary trophy. He may not be a prizefighter, but David was crowned (or should we say buckled?) the Cortland’ Google Review Competition Champion. Way to go David! You’ve more than earned your metal/medal. Let’s get to know more about David below.
What’s your role at Cortland?
As an assistant community manager at Cortland, I have the privilege of assisting our residents on a daily basis. With the empowerment that Cortland provides its associates, I am able to make customer service-focused decisions in order to help residents and future residents solve any issues with their account.
What made you excited to work at Cortland?
I was very excited to work for a company that was focused on the resident experience. Knowing that customer service and satisfaction were a priority was important because I know that, in my life, it is important to me as well.
Living at Cortland is wonderful. Management team is incredibly responsive and truly care about your experience…David is off the charts with his customer service.
What are you most proud of?
I’m proud of my accomplishments here at Cortland, but most of all, I’m proud of my family. My wife and I just purchased a new home in Acworth, GA, with my 5-year-old daughter, and we couldn’t be happier.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I enjoy staying up to date on sports — mainly Atlanta United and the Detroit Lions.
What’s the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
A brand new, fully loaded Corvette for my dad, with a bag of money on the passenger seat to pay off any and all debt —AND MORE —for him and my mother.
If you could learn a new skill, what would it be?
Rock climbing — future Ninja Warrior here!
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
