It may have been a whirlwind of activity, team bonding, and workshopping for those at Cortland Prime ONE last week, but we want to take a moment to slow down and reflect on what a truly “Cortland” week it was. While the week was packed with fun, laughter, and lip syncing – it was duly filled with focus, collaboration, and innovative thinking. We took a look back at what we’ve done to help Cortland grow into the company it is today, and we put our heads together to create the kind of environment that not only encourages great, unified work, but inspires it.
We invited our team members not only from across the USA, but from across the globe, and gathered them in one place. If you made the trip out to Atlanta, you know it was quite an experience: four days, over a dozen speakers, 600+ attendees, and… about a bajillion legos. We can’t possibly recap it all, but if you missed it, here are just a handful of highlights from Cortland Prime ONE, 2017…
We heard from leaders across all of Cortland’s major teams, more confident than ever that the company is situated in a place to push the boundaries growth and exceptionalism in all areas.
Cortland employees don’t just treat each other like family – they extend that passion to helping residents. This has never been so evident as in the actions of those associates who worked tirelessly in response to hurricanes Harvey and Irma to help affected residents and fellow associates.
We heard a stirring message from Alex Sheen, viral sensation and founder of Because I Said I Would, a philanthropic group in a class of its own, devoted to the betterment of humanity by promises being made – and kept.
What says “teamwork” better than a coordinated battle of musical fakery in the new Mercedes-Benz stadium? Cortland doesn’t just push the envelope when it comes to work – we also push the envelope when it comes to fun!
Special celebrity, Ron Burgundy (Well, the Joe Dell edition of Ron Burgundy) made an appearance at this year’s Cortland Prime to give hilarious context to big company news and teach us how not to use cliche phrases.
With another year of Cortland Prime in the books, we’d like to thank all of those who partook in last week’s events. It takes a special culture to have 600+ people working, playing, and striving to achieve greatness as ONE, and we’d like to express genuine excitement about our collective future here. Because, in 2018, there’s no limit to what Cortland can build.
