Michelle Enick is the Director of Real Estate Transactions and Reporting with the firm’s Accounting team, where she is responsible for managing and documenting the accounting efforts related to acquisitions and company transactions. She also assists in financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, and various special projects. Michelle brings to her role an extensive background in real estate accounting and finance with an expertise in SEC reporting, acquisitions, external auditing, and accounting process improvement.
Prior to joining Cortland, Michelle served as the Real Estate Transactions and Reporting Manager for Signature Office REIT (f.k.a Wells Real Estate Funds, Wells Core Office Income REIT), where she prepared the SEC filings for a real estate investment trust with over $600 million in managed assets, as well as managed the portfolio-wide acquisition accounting and auditing efforts. In this role, she also helped facilitate the company’s transition to a completely self-managed platform. Previously, Michelle served as an assurance senior associate for Price Waterhouse Coopers, where she led the quarterly review and annual audit processes for public company clients including Flowers Foods. She also provided advisory and consulting services for a $30+ billion company and engaged in extensive project management across several service areas. In addition to her experience, Michelle is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member of the Atlanta Chapter of the SEC Professionals Group.
She holds her master’s degree in Accountancy and her bachelor’s degree in Finance from Wake Forest University.
